Though the resilience of the righteous is a beautiful sight to see, to persecute him is far worse a crime than letting a criminal free. However counterintuitive it may seem to our mind, however many reasons you have counter, the suffering of the righteous will always be the greatest crime. For this reason, the principle of being innocent until proven guilty is not enough, for the question itself is a crime and an annoyance to the righteous who is burdened already with the sins and the weight of civilization's progress. Innocent until proven guilty has an internal contradiction because the process of falsely proving the innocent guilty requires the assumption that he is so. Let the criminal free, and the righteous will catch him, but shackling the righteous or both enslaves all of us.
