True joy is the most powerful element in the true essence of sainthood, a fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is the freedom to smile, it is the freedom and ability to make light of any and all evils, and any situation in true love for our selves, for God, and for our friends and neighbors. It is the perfection of happiness, it is bliss, and it is able to emasculate all of life’s sufferings, toils, and griefs by looking at God and beholding his face in love and also at the faces of those we are with and surrounded by and most of all those in need of eternal life through Christ, through the transcendence of our life towards his love from this world’s common struggles, and through our own countenance, which can be as the face of Christ in the lives of those we are surrounded by and with whom we are present.
